Postdoctoral position in dissipative self-assembly of porous supramolecular materials – Oct 2024 start (approx.)
We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled postdoctoral researcher to work in the field of chemically fueled self-assembly of functional supramolecular materials.
The position will focus on the synthesis of novel multi-component porous supramolecular materials, whose hierarchical self-assembly can be controlled through continuous supply of chemical fuels under diffusion-controlled conditions.
The successful candidate will design and synthesize novel molecular building blocks, and study the formation of porous supramolecular materials from these building blocks, first under equilibrium conditions, and then under dissipative conditions using (micro)fluidic devices that enable the controlled supply of chemical fuels.
Requirements:
- PhD in Chemistry
- Experience in organic synthesis and compound characterization
- Skills and expertise in supramolecular chemistry and in the characterization of self-assembled materials using different spectroscopy and microscopy techniques
- Experience with microfluidic technologies, metal-organic cages, or numerical modelling of reaction networks is desired but not mandatory
